A Night at AWANA

OPENING CEREMONY

Each Wednesday evening begins at 6:00 PM on the AWANA Square. Kids gather together to pledge to the American and AWANA flags, pray, and kick off the night. 

GAME TIME

Kids participate in exciting AWANA games on the AWANA Square. They compete in color teams, earn points throughout the evening, and enjoy friendly competition while building friendships. 

SMALL GROUPS

Children meet with their leaders and group members to recite memory verses, discuss their handbook lessons, and learn how God's Word applies to their lives.

During this time, clubbers can: 
  • Earn patches and awards by completing handbook sections. 
  • Memorize Scripture and discuss Bible truths. 
  • Earn AWANA Bucks to spend in the AWANA Store on fun prizes and rewards. 

LARGE GROUP

Kids gather together for a Bible lesson led by one of our AWANA leaders. Through engaging teaching, children learn more about God's Word and how to apply biblical truths to their daily lives.

(Ages 3–Pre-K)

An introduction to God's love through Bible stories, games, songs, and activities designed specifically for preschoolers. 

SPARKS

(Kindergarten–2nd Grade)

Children begin memorizing Scripture, completing handbook sections, and learning foundational biblical truths. 

T&T 
Truth & Training

(3rd–6th Grade)

Students dive deeper into God's Word through Scripture memorization, Bible study, discussion, and relationship-building with leaders. 

UNIFORMS

Each club has a designated AWANA uniform: 
  • Cubbies: Ages 3–Pre-K 
  • Sparks: Kindergarten–2nd Grade 
  • T&T: 3rd–6th Grade 

As children complete handbook sections throughout the year, they earn patches and awards that are displayed on their uniforms.

GRand Prix

Each year, our Sparks and T&T clubbers have the opportunity to participate in the exciting AWANA Grand Prix! Kids can purchase a Grand Prix car kit, design and build their own car, and race against fellow clubbers.  Grand Prix car kits will be available for purchase throughout the month of February. Families are invited to join us on race night to cheer on the racers and enjoy an evening of fun.

Parents: Remember to let your clubber do most of the building—it makes the experience even more rewarding!

Car Check-In

All cars must be checked in and approved before race day. During check-in, leaders will inspect each car, add any necessary weights, and make sure it meets race requirements.

Families are invited to join us on race night to cheer on the racers and enjoy an evening of fun.

AWARD NIGHT

We encourage every clubber to stay faithful in completing their handbook work and Scripture memorization throughout the year. Children who complete their handbook requirements by April 28 will receive recognition and awards at our annual AWANA Award Night.

PARENT FAQ'S

Can my child bring a friend?
Yes! Children are welcome to invite friends. A signed permission form is required for visiting guests. If a guest plans to attend regularly, they should be registered in the AWANA program. 
What should my child wear?
Please have your child wear: 
  • Their AWANA uniform 
  • Closed-toe shoes suitable for running and playing 
  • Weather-appropriate clothing 
For safety reasons, please avoid sandals and Crocs.
What if my child doesn't finish their handbook?
To receive an award at the end of the year, handbook requirements must be completed by April 28. If a child does not finish by that date, they may continue working through the summer and turn in their completed handbook in the fall to receive their award. 
Can my child complete more than one handbook in a year?
Absolutely! Children who are motivated to work ahead may complete multiple handbooks during the year. 
Where do I drop off and pick up my child?
Check-In
Please check your child in at the Kids Ministry kiosk before proceeding to their club location.

We would love for you to join our AWANA team! Volunteers have the opportunity to invest in children's lives, teach God's Word, and build meaningful relationships.

Nursery

Care for the children of AWANA volunteers from 5:45–7:30 PM.

Puggles (2-Year-Olds)

Help care for our youngest participants through songs, activities, playtime, and Bible-based learning.

Cubbies Leader (3's–Pre-K)

Help preschoolers build a foundation of faith by teaching Bible stories, introducing Scripture memory, and helping them learn about God's love in a fun and caring environment.

Sparks Leader (Kindergarten–2nd Grade)

Encourage children as they memorize Scripture, complete handbook sections, and grow in their faith.

T&T Leader (3rd–6th Grade)

Build relationships with students while helping them learn God's Word, memorize Scripture, and participate in group discussions.

Substitute Leader

Serve where needed on a flexible basis and support AWANA when regular leaders are unavailable.

VOLUNTEER FAQ'S

What do I need to do to serve as a leader?
All volunteers must:
  • Complete a one-time volunteer application. 
  • Complete any required screening and church safety requirements. 
  • Complete Mandated Reporter Training and renew it as required by church policy. 
Do I need to attend the training meeting?
Yes. All AWANA volunteers are expected to attend the annual training meeting. This meeting covers safety procedures, ministry updates, and important information for the upcoming year.

What should I wear?
AWANA leader shirts are available for purchase and are encouraged for all volunteers. Leader shirts and name tags help families and children easily identify approved volunteers and contribute to a safe environment.
